The University Placement Cell (UPC) at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) recently organised a dynamic two-day workshop focusing on “Unlocking Creativity and Efficiency with Generative AI, Microsoft Excel, and Presentation Techniques”. The aim was to equip students with the essential skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive professional environment.
The workshop commenced with an inaugural ceremony featuring addresses by Prof.Rahela Farooqi, Honorary Director of UPC, JMI, and Prof. Rihan Khan Suri, Hony. Director of the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), JMI. The keynote address by Rohit Singh Tonk, MD MLA (Harvard University), emphasised the significance of AI across various domains. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Prof. Sabah Khan, Deputy Director, UPC, JMI.
The first day saw an insightful session on leveraging generative AI conducted by Mr. Bhuwan Mahajan, Co-founder of EdMyst. Participants were provided with assignments to reinforce learning. In the afternoon, Manoj Gupta, Founder and CEO of Digivate Labs, along with his team, shared guidance on creating entity models for process optimisation.
The second day featured sessions led by industry experts. Anurag Gupta, Consultant at BCG, shared advanced Excel techniques, while Prof. Moonis Shakeel conducted a session on creating Excel dashboards. The workshop concluded with a session on effective presentation skills led by Rahul Singh, Director of Reporting and Analytics at Bain and Company.
Overall, the workshop not only imparted valuable knowledge but also fostered interactive learning experiences. Participants left with practical skills and a deeper understanding of the subject matter, ready to embark on their professional journeys with confidence.
