NEW DELHI: Delhi experienced significant traffic disruptions on Thursday as crowds thronged markets ahead of Diwali, causing inconvenience to commuters. Delhi Traffic Police reported approximately 15 calls related to traffic issues throughout the day.
One notable incident involved a road cave-in near Jesus Mary Marg-San Martin Marg Red Light on San Martin Marg, impacting traffic movement.Commuters were advised to plan their journeys accordingly, as shared by the traffic police on social media.
Commuters took to social media platforms, particularly X, to express their grievances about the traffic conditions. One user complained about a traffic jam at Radisson roundabout towards Jwala Heri Market and from the District Centre side, citing a 30-minute wait for a one-kilometer stretch.
Traffic issues were also reported on Old Rohtak Road, the roundabout of Mori Gate outside Tis Hazari courts, Khajuri to Yamuna Vihar, Rajghat to Wazirabad flyover, and Ravi Das Marg at Kalkaji.
Residents of South Delhi, like Snigdha Singh, shared their experiences, noting heavy traffic near Green Park. Singh mentioned that the slow-moving traffic doubled her usual travel time on the stretch.
