NEW DELHI: The Delhi police have recovered the car belonging to Mallika Nadda, the wife of (BJP) National President JP Nadda, from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, officials said on Sunday.
The car, a Fortuner, was reported stolen from Govindpuri area in Delhi on March 19.
Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with the theft. The incident occurred when the vehicle’s driver left it unattended in Govindpuri after a service.
Subsequently, a report was lodged with the police, prompting an investigation.
CCTV footage revealed the SUV heading towards Gurugram with a Himachal Pradesh license plate, officials said.
The recovery marks a significant development in the case, shedding light on the theft that took place weeks ago.
“We have arrested two persons in this case. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had stolen the SUV on demand and were planning to take it to Nagaland,” they said.
