New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party on Friday announced ‘15 years of BJP versus three weeks of AAP’ campaign and said that it would set accountability in the civic body.
MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak said, “Within just 30 days, a big change is visible in Delhi. See BJP’s work of 15 years and see our work of three weeks. I think even our work will be more than theirs.”
“Work is being done vigorously on internal roads, drainage system, cleanliness and all the issues of MCD…Through this campaign, we will show Delhiites the report of our work through the media, and the public can reach us if we do something wrong or if they have any suggestions.”
Bharatiya Janata Party hit back and called it a gimmick.
Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said, “It is a jumla because AAP has not yet got into governance of MCD. It seems the narrow victory has gone to their head.”
“Earlier, MCD employees used to think that if Kejriwal came to power, they would regularly get their salaries. But now, after knowing that the Kejriwal government has not paid salaries for several months to its over 50,000 contractual employees, MCD employees are staring at tough days ahead,” he claimed.
After three straight wins and 15 years of power in MCD, the year saw BJP losing a tightly contested battle to AAP in the civic polls. This was the first time the Kejriwal-led outfit had wrested control of an administrative body from the saffron party, winning 134 out of 250 wards.
