The festive seasonis here and the celebrations have begun across the country. Amid the celebrations, many people also consider buying a new car, however, there have been certain challenges due to semiconductor shortage and supply chain disruptions that have led to increased waiting period for some models. However, the situation has been improving lately and there are several models that are available with minimal or no waiting period.
It is worth noting that this list is based on the information shared by our dealer sources and it depends on the geographical location and the availability of the said model, colour, and variant in the area. It is advised to get in touch with your nearest dealer for further details. Here, let’s take a quick look at some of the models that are available with minimal to no waiting periods.

Skoda Kushaq
Skoda launched the Kushaq in 2021 as part of the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India’s India 2.0 strategy and has been a successful model, enabling the manufacturer’s comeback so far. It is available with two engine options – a 115 hp, 178 Nm 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI engine and a more powerful 150hp, 250 Nm 1.5-litre, four-cylinder mill. During the festive period, it is being sold at a starting price of Rs 10.89 lakh, ex-showroom.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is a popular hatchback from the manufacturer’s portfolio. It is available with the familiar 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 83 hp and 113.8 Nm of peak torque. It also gets a CNG variant that makes 69 hp and 95.2 Nm of torque. While the petrol trim can be had with either a 5-speed manual and an AMT automatic, the latter only gets a 5-speed manual option.
Tata Tiago
The Tata Tiago is another popular hatchback in India and is a key contributor to the OEM’s overall sales. It can be had readily during the ongoing festive season. It is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder NA petrol engine that generates 86 hp and 113 Nm of peak torque. The power mill is mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny
The newly-launched Maruti Suzuki Jimny is a capable off-road SUV that the manufacturer has brought to the country. It is available in two variants – the entry level Zeta trim and top-spec Alpha trim. At present, the top-spec Alpha variant is available with minimal to no waiting period in specific locations. The Jimny gets a sole 1.5-litre, four-cylinder NA petrol engine that belts out 105 hp and 134 Nm of peak torque.
On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki is offering up to Rs 1 lakh discount on the base-spec Zeta variant of the SUV, which includes a cash discount of Rs 50,000 on the sticker price along with an additional Rs 50,000 benefits if you opt to exchange an old vehicle.
Renault Kwid
The Kwid is one of the highest-selling models in India for the French carmaker. It is available with two engine options – a 53 hp, 72 Nm 800cc engine and a 1.0-litre unit that makes 67 hp and 91 Nm of peak torque. Although the base-spec and mid-spec variants are scarce and are not available, the RXT variant, which comes at a starting price of Rs 5.67 lakh, is available without a waiting period.
