NK Arora, Chairman of Covid working group NTAGI, shared his views on China’s Covid policies. He said, “China was following the so-called zero Covid policy so far, but what is the exact situation?” Shedding light on how rising cases will affect India, Arora said, “As far as India is concerned, there are many things that one should keep in mind. Firstly, India is extensively immunized, the adult population particularly. They have agonized with effective vaccines. Also, 90% of the individuals have also been affected by natural cold infection, so basically, the majority have been immunized with hybrid immunity.” “It is an important thing to note that we keep a close vigil on the Chinese situation and there is nothing to be panicked about. There is no need to get too much worried about the situation. The system is very vigilant,” he added.
