Ishaan Khatter, Mrunal Thakur On PIPPA, Shahid Kapoor, Their Bollywood JOURNEY | Raja Krishna Menon
Says Mrunal, ”I do want a gap between my two projects because I want the audience to breathe the characters that I’ve played. I would like to be faithful to the character, give that character that much time and dedication. I also want to talk about what I went through while doing a particular role or what my journey was with it or what were the best moments etc.”
She also shared that there was a time when there would be a long gap of probably a year or two between her films, and looking back she feels that was a nice phase to be in.
Elaborating about the phase where was struggling to get work, Mrunal says, “I had that phase where I had to wait for two years for someone to buy my film as we had no money for publicity and promotion. I started in 2011 -2012, but I’m only shining now. And the fact is no one recognised me then, everyone is recognising my talent suddenly now, which I feel like it’s okay. I have learned and I’m happy that filmmakers are showing that faith in me.”
She adds, “It’s a journey and you know, you have to climb that ladder one step at a time and that’s what I’ve been doing. I love languages, so I’m trying my best. I actually started first in Marathi cinema, I started in Hindi and Telugu and explored Tamil and maybe Punjabi. So you never ever know because I don’t want a language to be the barrier when it comes to an artist.“
Mrunal will next be seen in Pippa with Ishaan Khattar.
